Fly fishing in the Florida Keys brings many rewards: challenging fish fights, views that leave you speechless, and now and then you have to make room on the wall for another award. We were lucky to experience all that and more last week while competing in the Don Hawley tarpon tournament. We caught at least one tarpon a day, and sometimes more, which was enough to earn us the title of Champion in the 16-pound tippet division of the 5-day run. Congratulations to all the winners, and every competitor who gave it their all in this 40-year old tradition of honoring the great silver king!
